Walking on Water

Even Nature’s Laws Are Subject to Christ

The power of Jesus is such that the natural rules and laws of nature are subject to Him. For this reason when we put our eyes on Him He changes reality.

In other words, He can take an impossible situation, such as the walking on the water in the video above from Matthew 14:25-32, and make it a possibility through our faith.

However, as soon as we take our eyes off of Him, the rules and laws of nature engulf us again. So when our eyes stay fixed on Him, the rules and laws of nature become of no effect. We can see that Peter, keeping his eyes on Jesus, in faith, was able to walk on the stormy sea until doubt entered his heart and he immediately began to sink, but when he cried out to Jesus in his distress, Jesus immediately lifted him up and onto the solid ground of faith once again; demonstrating that when we look at our circumstances and our own faith fails us, all we have to do is call upon Him and He strengthens our faith with His.

So when we step out in faith in Jesus, it begins a super natural process; but inevitably, doubts begin to arise when we see the storm around us and the unnatural course we are on and we begin to sink in despair. It is comforting to know that even when we may doubt, we can call on Him, and He will supply what’s lacking in our faith and lift us out of our travail and keep us set on our purpose.
