It all begins in Daniel 7:13, Daniel here describes one like the Son of man…
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
Daniel 7:13
The reference to “one like” makes it clear that this one also had divine nature as well, but was likened unto man. Jesus being God’s seed planted in the fallen nature was there to raise that nature up through obedience to bring that nature to death in order to free us from the bondage of sin.
As this is quoted by Jesus (that the Son of man shall suffer many things), He is using it to highlight His authority to draw us to the throne of God in heaven via His sacrifice. By identifying as one of us (a human) He is able to draw all those who would believe, through the same struggles they have, to the same kind of obedience in order for our redemption.
Because He did not sin, His body (as the Son of man) was the perfect sacrifice for the redemption of mankind. He had to suffer as a man in order to give us entry through our flesh into the new nature of a son of God.
It is as Paul describes it: that we were married to our sinful nature through the law. So in order to be free to marry another our former husband had to die. This frees us to be born again into a new hope and a new life; regaining the title Adam lost as a son of God.
