A Vessel Unto Honour

What would it be like if your toddler made up their own mind as to how much time they wanted to spend with you and it was only 10 minutes a day? How would this make you feel? Now think about how God feels when that’s all the time you can give Him in your day. This is what he really wants. Time with us. It is our most precious resource, and the devil knows this. The greatest weapons in the devil’s arsenal are all based on distraction. Things around us cause us to waste our time. The time that we would spend playing games, watching TV, going to the movies and all other various activities could be spent listening to our Father.

The peace that transcends our understanding is within our reach, all we have to do is sit in His presence with our focus on Him. Now more than ever we need to spend time in His presence. We need to put down our distractions and focus on Him just like the needy toddler needs to spend time with us. Why? Because He loves us. He will not remove from us all the circumstances that threaten us, but He will guide us through them. In the Bible, Jesus said, “Things that cause people to sin will come into the world, but woe be to the man that brings them in.”

So, as the apostle Paul says, “Let us run with perseverance the race set before us so as to achieve the prize of eternal life.. in all things let your requests be made known to God with all prayer and supplication and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will be with you.” This is a fact according to the word of God.
